Do you ever (consciously) take a moment of rest to let all the impressions of a day, week, project or experience land?
As a creator, Wendy Eggen often encounters this subject. You can’t always go on and use your ‘creative’ brain endlessly. Time is needed to recharge, reflect and then move on to the next project. We move on from day to day and time flies by. Through our experiences we grow, learn and reflect where we are in life. Although we often don’t consciously think about it. This gave rise to “Time to Reflect”, an audio-visual performance in which Wendy takes you into her process of movement, rest and reflection. She mixes her hand-drawn animations live into a visual show and takes you into her story.

Dressed in black and armed with a bucket of computer power, VIDEO BSTRDS take you on an audio-visual journey through time and space. With compelling beats, repetitive mantras, and hypnotic visuals, they create a world of image and sound: a dive into the unpredictability of life. In Void Dive, the duo explores how to embrace overwhelming life.
VIDEO BSTRDS consists of Groningen-based musician and producer Daniel Alsina-Santos (Big BSTRD) (1995, NL) and Leeuwarden-based video artist Vincent Westra (VIDEOBAND) (1995, NL). Their work combines characteristics of experimental dub-techno beats with generative and audio-reactive visuals.

In this work, I explore the profound connection between identity and language. To understand this relation, I attempt to redefine the concept of “city” beyond its geographical borders and its impact on forming a new identity. I reconstructed the stage of the Syrian socio-political play Ghourba (foreignness) (1976) which depicted the impact of the political situation between 1948 war to 1973 war on the Arab identity under oppressive regimes, drawing on techniques from the two directors Youssef Chahine in his film Al Maseer (Destiny) (1997) and Khaldoun Al Maleh in contrasting actor movements and using static and dynamic camera work to create a theatrical, poetic setting aiming to an intellectual narrative within the imagery.

A-Perspective without gravity is an experimental performance that investigates the digital body, the experience of gravity or its disappearance in the digital world and explores knowledge from lesser-known dance and movement forms such as yeoseong gukgeuk, a non-traditional dance in Korea that challenges patriarchal values.
