AR Graffiti: Hall of Fame
Graffiti isn’t about asking for permission, but about putting your name on walls without being asked. That’s why, for the unveiling of our latest AR graffiti installation, we set up our own exhibition.
Bring Street Art to Life
Step into a immersive world where digital street art comes alive. Located in the EMG, in the heart of Groningen’s newest district, Stadshavens, the Groningen-based art collective WERC presents a large-scale, interactive installation where graffiti, light, and sound merge into a single sensory experience.
At the center of the exhibition is AR Graffiti 3, multiple graffiti pieces are brought to life through interactive projections and a specially composed soundscape. Together, they create an overwhelming spatial experience, blurring the boundaries between physical and digital art and showcasing street art like never before.
In an adjacent space, AR Graffiti 1.0 and 2.0 are also on display. These earlier works provide context and demonstrate how WERC has gradually transformed traditional graffiti into a new, virtual form of expression where technology and creativity meet.
This exhibition is made possible through our collaboration with MY Facilities. Thanks to their technical expertise, we are able to realise the video projections for AR Graffiti: Hall of Fame.
ABOUT WERC
The art collective WERC designs and develops interactive media art that explores the relationship between humans, nature, and technology. The humanization of technology and the ongoing interplay between these three forces are central to their work. How do humans, nature, and technology influence each other, and where do the boundaries blur?
Through their installations and performances, WERC investigates the limits between the physical and digital worlds. Where does one end and the other begin? Or perhaps, are they not separate worlds at all?
