At WERC_in_Progress, we believe that sharing insights leads to better art. Digital art thrives on research, experimentation, and innovation. It’s about testing new techniques, refining them, and trying again. With this event, we’re opening up our process to the public.Our goal is to showcase not only the polished final pieces but also the creative journey—including inspirations, failed experiments, and developmental steps.
This WERC_in_Progress we’re continuing our research in digital arts combined with dance and movement. In the past we’ve worked with dance and theatre companies Club Guy & Roni, ShELFISH X_Yusuf_Boss and many others to digitize human movement in interesting and novel ways. Now we’re continuing this research, focussing on technology first. Together with dancer/choreographer Olympia Kotopolous we’re building a virtual playground where performers seamlessly transition between the digital and the physical world by existing in two spaces at the same time.
At WERC_in_Progress present the results and ongoing research, our inspiration and a behind the scenes look at our prototypes and experiments. We invite you to participate in the creation process by engaging with the work in unfinished state. We’re presenting our research at our studio space.
