WERC_Artist_Talks

A series of talks with our favourite new media artists. Over the years we’ve met some inspiring, thought provoking and kind artists from all over the world. We’d love for you to meet them as well, so we’re inviting them for an Artist Talk in our studio, where we can all have a drink, talk about the current challenges and opportunities in new media art and discuss their work.

Are you curious about the last edition with Adrien M? Check out the livestream here.

NINTH EDITION WITH SPIME.IM

SPIME.IM is an Italian artistic collective that creates transmedia projects investigating the aesthetics and languages derived from the affirmation of digital reality. SPIME.IM consists of Davide Tomat, Gabriele Ottino, and Marco Casolati.

Their work mainly explores the boundaries of identity, corporeality, and the perception of the human being in the absurd times humanity is facing. Using diverse aesthetics such as found footage, memes, and computer‐generated images, they aim to draw connections between contemporary events and abstract insights with the intention of making sense of it all, or perhaps simply romanticizing the chaos.

In this ninth edition of WERC Artist Talks, SPIME.IM offers insight into two key projects: INFOMANIA, their first solo exhibition presented at InSpace Mexico and HINT, an experiment that fuses AI-generated imagery with a critical reflection on our present.
