A series of talks with WERC’s favorite new media artists. Over the years we’ve met some inspiring, thought provoking and kind artists from all over the world. We’d love for you to meet them as well and so we’re inviting them for an Artist Talk in our studio, so we can all have a drink, talk about the current challenges and opportunities in new media art and discuss their work.

Born 1978, Francois Wunschel fell into the realm of computing when he was a teenager. He made his first video game at 14, but graduated from architecture school.He successfully merged his passion and his studies by founding the studio 1024 architecture with his friend Pier Schneider.

Since then, the studio has focused on creating and producing audiovisual installations, fusing architecture and the visual arts in an internationally recognized body of work. From small-scale objects intended for indoor exhibitions to monumental installations in the public space, what distinguishes 1024 works is their unique approach to space through the tools of geometry, light, sound, and movement.
